Adventures of Sherlock Holmes IV
Published in Audio CD by Naxos Audio Books (March, 2001)
Authors: Arthur Conan Doyle and David Timson
Average review score:

For Lovers Of Holmes
Though not necessarily the best Sherlock Holmes stories, David Timson does a wonderful job bringing flavor and color to stories of our favorite Victorian "consulting detective." Picturing the flat at 221B Baker Street and 19th century London is easy through Watson's naratives and Timson's excellent voice characterizations. David Timson does the best readings among all the Sherlock Holmes audio books I own. I highly recommend any Holmes story read by David Timson.

Classical music enhances these wonderful tales
The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes VI is the latest volume in the simply outstanding Naxos AudioBooks CD series of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's beloved detective stories featuring that intrepid master of deduction, Sherlock Holmes. "The Adventure Of The Gloria Scott"; "The Adventure Of The Resident Patient"; "The Adventure Of The Noble Bachelor"; and "The Adventure Of The Final Problem", are all presented in a complete and unabridged format, and are adroitly and dramatically narrated by David Timson, a skilled and experienced television actor. Classical music enhances these wonderful tales of mystery and deduction that have flourished throughout the test of time.

tundra dog
A very interesting little story of a groundhog who thinks he is superman (wears a red cape) There isn't anything that he can't do. The illustrations are very beautiful. Children love it and can read for themselves or listen to a tape that comes with the book. I think it is great!

Aircraft of the Aces Legends of World War II
Published in Hardcover by Osprey Pub Co (15 September, 2000)
Authors: Tony Holmes, Iain Wyllie, and Iain Wylie
Average review score:

Aces
The aces all had their favourite airplanes and the author of this book showes how these pilots did their job. The combination of great artwork, technical info, pictures and first hand accounts of aces themselves are the ingredients of a great book. The war in the air comes very close when you read the stories of individuals trying to shoot down their next victim. Most pilots are not the heroes you expect them to be, they were just trying to stay alive. The airplanes they flew kept them alive during fierce battles so they could live another day.

All Truth Is God's Truth
Published in Paperback by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co. (July, 1977)
Author: Arthur Frank Holmes
Average review score:

Holmes decisively exposes contemporary confusion about truth
If you want to understand the Christian view of what Truth is and what it means, especially in contrast to [post]modernity's confusion on that point, this is the book for you. I also recommend Holmes's (much more readily available) "The Idea of a Christian College".

WOW!!
This is perhaps one of the best romance books that i have read and trust me I read a lot. It's one of those books that requires you to curl up under your comforter on a cold day while the wind ragges outside. "A shy young teacher and writer,Melisande visits Rio to do research, never dreaming that she will be swept up into the sensual rhythms of Carnavale..........and into the the arms of a handsome tycoon".

Melisande is a shy and conservative teacher on a research in Brazil where her future is sure to change. She is a type of person that is strong and yet afraid to discover the sensual part of her. Alex is a rich tycoon, he is a jeweler, who is afraid to trust women in general and when fate brings him in contact to Melisande, he believes that she is after his position and wealth.

I personally believe that this is a well written book because both characters seem to be individuals with their own mind not depending on each other for support, i mean for a customary romance their is always the expectation of one partner begging the other for forgivness, we all look for that its just that this time both characters seem to recognize the importance of what happened and seemed to be able to hold on to that and yet move on.

The secondary characters Maria and James were wonderfull and i wonder perhaps if there is a book about the because there are hints about their rocky road to love. Buy This Book Today!!!!!!!!!!.

Animal Magnetism: At Home With Celebrities & Their Companions
Published in Hardcover by Smithmark Publishing (April, 1998)
Authors: Patti Denys and Mary Holmes
Average review score:

A truly inspired collection of pictures and quotes.
This book is better than "Pets and their Celebrities" because it has more words, and more meaningful words at that, more celebs, better pictures (in my opinion, though they're still black and white) and better celebs overall. True, there are a lot of artists and musicians and designers and animal trainers and this and that, and you've probably never heard of them, but their photos are cute, and what they have to say is deeply moving. Plus there are a bunch of charity-founders you HAVE heard of, and even more singers and actors/actresses you also have heard of (and like). I'd have to say my favorite celebrity entered in the book is Sid Caesar. His dogs Plato and Minnie are adorable. He's part of the Ark Trust, to give you an idea of some of the kinds of people featured in the book (ones involved with animal rights.) Since that's so, it surprised me that more animal-loving celebs I know of weren't in here. There are so many popular ones who didn't make it in, it wasn't like they HAD to go with all those practically anonymous painters...but anyway, their paintings are expressive and animal-related, and it's a good read. A real good coffee table picture book, and a great gift for an animal lover! Part of the proceeds go to Jane Goodall's animal charity and PETA, so you're actually doing something good in buying it.

Armed with this book, which combines in-depth analysis of these four actions with explanation of the ground today, the visitor to the battlefields will be able to conduct his own battlefield tour.

Arthur Conan Doyle: A Life

Reveals Doyle's many other accomplishments
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) is best known as the creator of the fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. This outstanding biography by Hesketh Pearson (and wonderfully narrated by Tim Pigott-Smith) reveals Doyle's many other accomplishments, including how he came to the profession of medicine, his activities as a war correspondent, his eventual interest in spiritualism, as well as his many other writings. Ironically, Doyle felt his Sherlock Holmes stories to be the least of his literary works while prizing his now largely forgotten major historical novels. Here too is the story of Doyle as a husband, including the death of his first wife and the enduring affection of his second marriage. A true "rags to riches" tale, Arthur Conan Doyle: A Life is a technically flawless production with musical interludes and cues that is a "must" for anyone who has ever thrilled at one of his immortal stories.
